San Marino, 2 May 2024
Success and Commitment: "Kids Save Lives" Project Shapes Future Heroes in SchoolsThe concluding session for the academic year 2023/2024 of the " Kids Save Lives: saving lives is child's play" project was recently held. Initiated on January 30th and promoted by the European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC), the initiative targeted fifth-grade students, focusing on teaching fundamental first aid manoeuvres.
Each session, conducted with fifth-grade students from elementary schools in San Marino, enabled the children to acquire crucial skills, learning to recognize cardiac arrest, the procedures to follow while awaiting assistance, and how to intervene in cases of airway obstruction by a foreign body.
"Kids Save Lives", involving a total of 13 classes, sparked significant enthusiasm among both students and teachers. The positive feedback received led the educational institutions themselves to petition for the continuation and expansion of the project in future fifth-grade classes, aiming to ensure increasingly comprehensive training in emergency response and rescue.
The event was attended by the Secretary of State for Education and the Secretary of State for Health, along with the President of CEMEC, demonstrating the commitment and support of the institutions towards educational initiatives of this nature.
