International Mass Casualties experiences: from Abruzzo to Kamtchatka, two countries, one model
Conference San Marino 23 November 2009
The increasingly frequent disasters affecting our planet make it all the more necessary to be able to react rapidly and effectively through international cooperation. In this context it becomes crucial to join efforts by creating multinational teams, to speak the same language not only in linguistic but also in organizational and logistical terms based on common strategies that emerge out of different organizational andmanagementmodels.
This approach will lead, as already happened with verbal and classification systems, to the increasingly wide adoption of standardized operational concepts for an efficient and comprehensive response in emergency situations, by taking into account also the spatial and temporal features of the disaster.
