International Conference "CBRNe Summit Europe 2023"

The International Conference "CBRNe Summit Europe 2023" which was held in Portugal, in the splendid setting of Lisbon from 21 to 23 March 2023, saw the debut of CEMEC as "scientific partner" of the prestigious series of events

The Summit, which followed the previous editions held since 2013 in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States of America, saw the participation of over 220 participants from more than 20 different countries.

The " CBRNe Summit Europe 2023, which was held under the patronage of the NATO Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Center of Excellence, together with the CBRNe-OSDIFE Security and Defense Observatory, at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" - Department of Electronic Engineering and at the University of the Republic of San Marino - University Center for Security Training, was divided into three days with the participation of experts, technicians and academics, civil and military in the sector. I the first two days of activities were dedicated to an in-depth analysis of the state of the art, emerging scenarios as well as new challenges in the field of security and defence.The last day instead saw a live demonstration of the capabilities of the Fire Brigade and the Lisbon Police, together with the Portuguese Army, for the response to an attack on the subway with the use of "dirty bombs".

The objective of the event was to analyze and discuss the emerging scenarios, understand the difficulties of countering CBRNe threats, develop a greater understanding of the possible countermeasures to be implemented and, finally, discuss the importance of international cooperation in risk mitigation activities asymmetrical and unconventional.
