Visit of the Mutual Aid Society - S.U.M.S. San Marino
The European Centre for Disaster Medicine warmly welcomed the visit of Dr. Marino Albani, President of the Mutual Aid Society, to express its thanks to the organisation for its valuable support to the Centre's initiatives. During the meeting, both organisations emphasised the importance of collaboration in promoting the well-being and safety of communities.
The SUMS, founded in 1876, is an apolitical society with the main objective of promoting brotherhood, civic harmony and mutual aid among its members, excluding any profit motive. In addition, the society is actively committed to supporting social solidarity projects and general interest initiatives aimed in particular at those sectors of the community in difficulty.
In turn, Dr Albani expressed his gratitude to the European Centre for Disaster Medicine for its ongoing commitment to study, research and training for public health protection in emergencies and disasters.
During the visit, the Centre acknowledged the significant role of SUMS in promoting unity and solidarity among citizens, emphasising how the collaboration between the two organisations can contribute greatly to ensuring an effective response to various health and social challenges faced by the community.
After the visit, both sides renewed their commitment to continue this valuable collaboration, also in light of sharing the same values of brotherhood, mutual assistance and cultural growth.
