European Centre for Disaster Medicine and University of Makati Forge New PartnershipThe European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC) has officially commenced a promising collaboration with the University of Makati (UMAK) in the Philippines, marked by the signing of a formal agreement. This partnership, aimed at enhancing disaster education and training, signifies a strategic move towards empowering students with vital knowledge and skills in emergency response and management.
As part of this cooperation, CEMEC has already begun delivering a series of lectures to UMAK students, providing them with valuable insights and practical expertise. This educational initiative is expected to foster a deeper understanding of disaster preparedness and response, preparing the next generation of professionals to effectively manage and mitigate the impacts of disasters.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines several key areas of collaboration such as educational programs, research and development, faculty and students exchange and resource sharing.
