New Pediatric Basic Life Support and Defibrillation Course Offered by the European Centre for Disaster Medicine to Enhance Child Emergency ResponseThe European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC) recently offered a specialized course in Pediatric Basic Life Support and Defibrillation (PBLS-D) to non-health professionals. This program was specifically designed to teach critical interventions needed to save the lives of infants and children during crisis situations.
The Course covered a range of essential skills, including assessing unresponsive or distressed children, maintaining an open airway, performing effective chest compressions and rescue breathing tailored to a child's size, and using automated external defibrillators (AEDs) designed for pediatric patients.
This valuable training was available to individuals involved in childcare, education, and other non-healthcare roles who might encounter such emergencies, enhancing their preparedness and response capabilities.
