A Meeting of Shared Values: Unite for Disaster Medicine

At the European Centre for Disaster Medicine, we believe that true impact comes from strong partnerships. It was an absolute pleasure to meet with Dr. Luigi di Iorio, President of the Italian Relief Corps of the Order of Malta (CISOM), to discuss how we can work together in disaster response and humanitarian assistance.For over 50 years, CISOM’s incredible volunteers, doctors, nurses, emergency responders, and specialists, have been on the front lines, providing critical aid in times of crisis. Whether in natural disasters, humanitarian missions, or emergency medical evacuations, their unwavering dedication to serving those in need is truly inspiring.
This meeting was more than just an exchange of ideas. It was a reaffirmation of shared values: protecting human dignity, saving lives, and ensuring no one is left behind in moments of emergency. We are excited about the road ahead and the impact we can create together.
