"CBRNe Disaster & Incident Medical Management" – Full AgendaAs the world grapples with an increasing array of natural, incidental, and orchestrated CBRNe (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) threats, the urgency to fortify risk analysis, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery capabilities reverberates. In direct response to this global imperative, the European Centre for Disaster Medicine is pleased to share the agenda for a training initiative. This initiative promises to equip participants with the profound knowledge and skills needed to adeptly navigate CBRNe incidents on both local and national scales. This dynamic program immerses learners in experiential education, including a hands-on exercise hosted by the CBRN Department of the University of Health Sciences. This immersive experience is meticulously designed to provide authentic insights, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to confidently navigate real-world crises with unwavering resolve.
Resulting from a collaboration among the European Centre for Disaster Medicine, the University of Health Sciences - CBRN Department in Turkey, Observatory on Security and CBRNe Defence Italy, University of Rome “Tor Vergata” - Department of Electronic Engineering, Italy, and the State University of the Republic of San Marino - Center for Security Studies, this Course embodies global preparedness in action.
Spanning an extensive curriculum, the program delves into a spectrum of subjects intrinsically linked to CBRNe incidents. Encompassing everything from materials and preventative strategies to protective measures, specialized medical protocols, risk assessments, and inter-agency cooperation, the program provides a comprehensive view of the subject. Instructors will facilitate dynamic discussions and interactive sessions, fostering an exciting learning experience. To enhance the immersive journey, participants will engage in CBRN simulations featuring cutting-edge EMS training manikins, advanced Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), gas masks, and a decontamination station.
The Course is tailored to a range of professionals, including emergency management personnel, emergency medical services experts, fire service operators, government officials, public health and healthcare members, law enforcement, and armed forces operatives. The experiential insights gained at the CBRN Department facilities of the University of Health Sciences will equip participants with the expertise to confidently handle CBRNe incidents and harmonize efforts across various agencies during times of exigency.
Over the span of two intensive days, the event will take place in Ankara, Turkey on September 19th and 20th, 2023. These days will merge technical lectures with live exercises, led by a distinguished lineup of international experts.
Guiding this initiative is Prof. Dr. Selçuk Kılıç, who leads the CBRN Department at the University of Health Sciences, Prof. Levent Kenar, a distinguished Faculty member of the CBRN Department, brings credentials as a Professor of CBRN Defence and Laboratory Medicine. Prof. Roberto Mugavero, President of the European Centre for Disaster Medicine.
The course fee is 300 Euros. This nominal contribution covers the entire spectrum of the course, including coffee breaks and luncheons on both days of the event.
